to be honest, i completely agree with what your saying. the fandom makes the relationship seem disgusting and very obsessive on homura’s part, but when i watched the anime i didn’t see them as a cute lesbian couple. i saw them as actual best friends, and i also saw myself in homura and my best friend, payton, in madoka.

i would go to great lengths to protect my best friend, no matter the circumstance. i probably love her more than anything because she is the closest human being i have ever been acquainted with.

ahah, i’m not sure what point i’m trying to make here. i think i’m just trying to convince you to ignore the obsession on madoka and homura’s darkness that leads to her making bad decisions, and realize that there is a special type of love in their relationship! and in the whole anime/manga in general. it’s about sacrifice, and what you’re willing to do for yourself or for someone else in most cases for the characters.
